Paul
...or as I like to call him, PJ the DB. Oh ladies, I had forgotten how tiring the dating game was! So, here I am, back at it. I do nothing half heartedly. I also throw myself into whatever it is I decide to do... so why would dating be any different? Upon my first week of online dating, I find this 33 year old attractive man, (I use that term loosely) that lives close by. He's been divorced for a year, has no children, has a decent job, and actually seems to have it all together. Wow, this guy may actually be OK. We exchange our back and forths via email and text, then decide to go out on a date, finally. Let me mention, that in our emails and texting back and forth, he said a couple of things that may have led me to believe he could potentially be a douche bag. However, he always managed to redeem himself. So, we go out on our first date. He was such a gentleman (which is hard to find these days). A reserved table on the patio of the local country club. How nice. We had dinner and drinks and laughed. Then I decided to call it a night. I didn't want things to get out of hand. So, he walked me to my car and gave me a peck. Yay! I forgot how much fun dating was (I was thinking as I was pulling off). So we keep talking and texting. We go out for lunch one day next week (upon his request). That same night he invites me for a boat ride on the nearby lake to watch the sunset. He brings along wine and a picnic. (I know, right?). The whole time, however, I am thinking, this has GOT to be too good to be true. I even tell a couple of my friends, that something just doesn't seem quite right. It's too good to be true, I say, he could be a DB, but I'm not sure yet. After the boat ride, we go back to his house and watch a movie and make out. But, the whole time, I am getting the feeling that this guy cannot wait for me to leave. I'm not sure why, but I just can't get that thought out of my head. The movie ends, and I say, well, I am headed home, have a great evening. His response? Bye! Not see ya later, I'll call you, peck on the cheek, nothing! From then on there was little communication. Well, other than the late night Saturday text that read, "I'm out having drinks with friends. Are you free later?" Ummm, it's 10 now.. what do you mean later? I'm no dummy, that was straight up a booty call. So I tell him, thanks, but no thanks. Then, I get another random text on Sunday around 3PM that says, "Are you busy tonight?". Okay, so at this point, I don't think, I KNOW this guy is a douche bag. You may be thinking I am harsh. No, I am 36. I know how this game works by now. Ladies, no guy should ever ask you out on the same day for a date. EVER! That's a big sign a guy is a player. I wait an hour and text him back, "Yes.". That's all I said. Know what?! I have never heard another word from DB, I mean Paul. Because why? Because he was not real. I wouldn't give him what he really wanted... sex. He pulled out all the stops at first. All the romance, the boat ride, the gentleman moves... but I resisted. So you see, once he realized he was going to have to work for it, he moved on. THAT, is why you should never sleep with a guy until you are exclusive. I mean, don't get me wrong, I know this because I've made that mistake (a few times). That's how we learn... Anyway, so that was my first of a continuing string of bad luck at online dating. I swear, I am beginning to think that I am the normal one and everyone else is just freaking nuts.

Intro to Dating
I am so not a blogger, or at least that's what I use to think. I started off making this blog about graphic design, because that's what I do... I'm a graphic designer. But how boring is that? I realized quickly, that I wouldn't keep it up. I posted 3 things in over 6 months, and I wasn't even interested in what I had to say. Life goes on, right? Well, mine did. I have the house, I have the car, I have the job, I have the child... what I don't have is that significant someone in my life to share all of this with. I find it hard to date, but after being divorced 6 years, I recently have really been looking to settle down again. With no luck finding someone in the grocery store or at my house (work is off limits), because those are the only places I go, I finally decided to resort to the internet. That's right, online dating. At first I thought, how fun! You get to meet all these new and different people...all from the comforts of your home!! Little did I know the ride I was in for. After my initial month or two of being on the site, well, I found I have some pretty interesting and amusing stories to tell. Frustrated to no end, and believing no one would ever believe me, I decided to log my experiences. Not only could I get my story out (because my girlfriends are sick of listening to me), but it could also be therapeutic. So here I sit. Ready to tell the world about by horrific, yet funny dating dilemmas.
